Kevin & Alix welcome you to El Avalon
2 kms west of Nerja, The Avalon is a beautiful, traditional hostal. It's six light and spacious bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms and private terraces. There is a welcoming and comfortable bar area, and a charming restaurant with the added bonus of a beautiful terrace for outdoor dining. The Avalon faces east and has unparalleled and panoramic views up to Frigiliana, across to the Almijara mountains and down to the Playazo beach.
The Avalon serves breakfast, lunch, tea on the terrace and dinner every day of the week. The bar is open all day. The traditional restaurant has a huge open fire for chilly evenings and a sociable bar, whilst the terrace provides seating outside for 35 diners and overlooks the huge lawned garden which is filled with fruit trees, ancient bouganvillas and colourful hibiscus.
Kevin's international, creative cuisine and innovative tapas have gained him increasing recognition and a loyal clientèle. He has been a chef for 25 years and has worked in the UK, France, Australia and Thailand. He trained at The Waterside under the famous Roux brothers.
 
The front of house team – headed by Kevin's wife Alix is energetic, bi-lingual and dedicated to making everybody feel very special. One gets the impression that the staff really do want their customers to enjoy themselves and have a memorable meal in a relaxed and friendly environment.
The Avalon is also blessed with a big, free car park with easy access to the restaurant, bar and terrace, non-residents are always welcome.
The team will happily cater for vegetarians, children and those with special dietary requirements. All in all The Avalon is the perfect place to take time out, sit back and enjoy this beautiful part of Southern Spain. The sun shines, the sea sparkles, and life is good. Relax and enjoy...
